Good new music of the day 28/12/09 : Like A Tim - Troost [Like]

Links: Discogs - Juno - Myspace

single-sided acid record. Is this single-sided thing becoming a fad? I don't know, but I love the acid.

1989... summer of love..

Good track, nice nod to early 90's techno, a-la R&S (think Outlander - Vamp)

Good new music of the day 27/11/09 : Pirate Soundsystem - Trip II London EP [Coin Operated]

Wow what to make of this record.. big juicy electro basses, samples ranging from Techmaster PEB to Tiga, and a nod to early 90's rave/soundsystems shenanigans.. Good stuff.

Fuck yes.

Good new music of the day 20/11/09 3 : Traversable Wormhole - Traversable Wormhole Vol 5 [Traversable Wormhole]

Links: Discogs - Juno

Fuck it a third one today. Volume 5 of Traversable Wormhole. I like the concept. And I like the music. Side A "Traversing Through The Asteroid Belt" is my favorite on this one.

Good new music of the day 20/11/09 2 : Marty Bonds - All In Yo Face [Unreleased]

A second gnmotd today, and also an acid track, unreleased (it should be!), by Marty Bonds (part of duo Reel by Real with Juan Atkins)

Good new music of the day 19/11/09 : Tevo Howard - Move [Hour House Is Your Rush]

Links: Discogs - Juno - Rush Hour - Press Release

House music with acid... not acid-house. Or is it? Who cares, it's a beauty.

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Good new music of the day 18/11/09 : DVS1 - Klockworks 05 [Klockworks]

Links: Discogs - Juno

This record is a double-first. First, it's the first release of Zak K. aka DVS1. And second, it's the first release of Ben Klock's Klockworks which is not from Ben Klock himself.

But all this doesn't matter, because the music is good. Very good. The whole record.

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Good new music of the day 17/11/09 : Octave One - A World Divided "The O1 Mixes" [430 West]

Links: Discogs - Juno - 430 West

A unusually militant record from legendary 430 West's main players, Octave One.

From the release:

There are many things that separate us, cultural differences, geographic locations, differing points of view. Although, as earthers, we have many great achievements, we still remain, “A World Divided”.

Good new music of the day 16/11/09 : The Freakers - If U Want 2

Good new music of the day 14/11/09 : Milton Bradley - Psychological Drama [Do Not Resist The Beat!]

Links: Discogs - Juno

On the recommendation of someone on Discogs.
Sub-basses, drones.. add atmospheric soundscapes, and you get this record.

Friday, November 13, 2009

Good new music of the day 13/11/09 : Loco & Jam - 8am Curfew [Hedgehog]

Links: Discogs - Juno

Techno. No minimal, no house-anything, simply techno. Hedgehog is a rather new label, but with records like this one, it will quickly establish itself as a techno heavyweight, no doubt.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Good new music of the day 12/11/09 : Gegenheimer - de.EP.troit Part 2 [Perplex]

Links: Discogs - Juno

Newcomer Marco Gegenheimer is one to watch for. His first release came out this summer, this is his third record. Side A is my favorite, but the flip is also quality. I'll be looking forward to his productions in 2010.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Good new music of the day 10/11/09 : Yokota - Psychic Dance [Harthouse Digital]

Links: Discogs - Tracktracker

Legendary Japanese producer Susumu Yokota release his second full-length album this year (the other is the ambient "Mother" on Lo Recording) on the digital division of Mannheim's Harthouse.. which is a shame, because this album is worth a physical release.

10 quality psychedelic techno tracks, an appropriate 2009 follow-up to his 94 classic Acid Mt Fuji. Yokota prove yet again that he's a talented producer, whether it's ambient, modern classical, or techno music.
